Who am I

2025_07_11 - La prima pietra Ludo_05.jpg
My name is Ludovico Graziano, I was born in Milan on November 19, 2000.
I am a young emerging artist, sculptor and designer.
My relationship with the world has changed as I have grown up, but the bottom line has always remained the same. As a child, I wanted to be an inventor: my hero was Leonardo da Vinci, a man who had mastered both the technical and artistic aspects of the world, and I wanted to follow in his footsteps. I saw in the figure of the inventor a way to help others and an absolute freedom to create new things.
In fact, as a child I wanted to study engineering, but luckily, at the Umberto Boccioni Art High School, I discovered design, and there I found a more effective way to express myself.
It was natural, therefore, to continue studying product design at the Politecnico di Milano: an experience that gave me great technical skills and a solid approach to the project, but that somehow distanced me from the world of art and creativity.
For this reason, after graduation, I went through a moment of crisis during which, thanks to a dear friend and colleague, Marco Indiviglia, I got closer to the world of sculpture again, starting to take lessons from the master Martin Gherull.
This does not mean, however, that my journey in the world of design is over.
In fact, I then assisted my friend, designer and architect Nina Songhori, in the realization of the Hybrid Realities project for the Fuorisalone in Milan in 2024. We then collaborated on other projects and exhibitions, such as The Rejected by Kristian Sverdrup.
2025 marked a turning point in my career, with the opening of my studio-workshop in Milan, in via Luigi Ornato 18.

What do I do

My art is divided into three closely connected dimensions – emotion, reflection and instinct – which continuously dialogue and intertwine in each creation in ever-changing proportions, making each piece unique for profound and unrepeatable reasons:

Evoking emotions through physical and visual interaction
My artistic research is an exploration of beauty and wonder, an attempt to engage the viewer on an emotional, psychological and physical level. Each work is designed to create an experience that goes beyond observation, inviting those who experience it to a sensorial and intimate dialogue with matter and meaning.

Self-analysis and reflection on existential themes
Through my work, I investigate profound and crucial questions for my personal journey: the meaning of life, the essential components of existence, the forces that move the soul and the nature of emotions. I am interested in understanding how these can be stimulated in a positive way, creating an authentic contact that, even for just an instant, can transform the observer.
I explore intimate themes, such as affection in " The Embrace ", and collective reflections, such as the creative and vital drive expressed in " Primordial Flame ".

Instinct and the Analysis of the Unconscious
A fundamental part of my creative process is guided by pure instinct: the pleasure of creating without an apparent reason, letting what I feel emerge freely. This spontaneity inevitably leads to a subsequent deeper reflection on myself and on the reason why I needed to give life to the work in question. At this stage, I let myself be guided by the material itself, without preparatory studies, listening to what the material has to say and what I myself discover in the process.
I continue to explore new expressive languages, seeking a balance between design and sculpture, with the aim of creating works that combine intuition and reflection in an ever-evolving artistic research.

What's my philosophy

Ludismo: A term born a bit as a joke, but which is taking on an increasingly concrete meaning.

Ludismo was born from Ludo, from a place where creation takes place in the dimension of play.
It is important to note how a child, during play, identifies with his reality;
what might normally be seen as playing without rules is actually a very serious game:
the child does not do, he is, and exists with all of himself.
From here comes the fundamental principle of Ludism: to create like a child, seriously, but without forgetting to be an adult; where a child has parents who make sure that he does not get hurt while playing, we have our conscience and ability to discern the game from the reality that surrounds us. It is up to us to find the right balance.

The goal is to create in the dimension of play: to use play as an act of liberation, of expression of the soul, without fear of external judgment; to seek one's happiness in the comparison with oneself, not in the comparison with the world. One must follow one's instinct, as art is in itself an act of prayer with which to enjoy the world.
