First Stone

2023 - Sandstone on a treetrunk

Dimensions with pedestal: h125 x 37 x 37 cm

"The First Stone" is more than a work: it is a symbol, a beginning, a declaration. It is not only my first stone sculpture, but the first real step into the world of sculpture, the inaugural act of a path chosen with awareness, the seed of a new creative existence.

This sculpture invites a multisensory experience: the viewer is not a simple observer, but an active part of the work. Created to be appreciated at 360°, it has no front or back: every change of perspective modifies the perception and the figures enclosed within it reveal themselves in ever new ways.

Through sight and touch, "La Prima Pietra" becomes a bridge between art and those who experience it, transforming matter into emotion, gesture into dialogue, the first step in an endless journey.

Project evolution

“La Prima Pietra” (The First Stone) is not just a work to be observed, it is a sensory experience that invites touch, listening, and discovery.

The audience becomes an active part of a dialogue between matter and sound.

As I carved it, I realized that the first stone was not just a rock, but something much more: a soul. In working with it, I heard its natural voice, and I felt the need to share it with the world. This revelation profoundly changed my perception, inspiring me to give it a new name. Now, it is "The First Singing Stone”.

By gently touching its surface, one can perceive the hidden voice of the stone, amplified through speakers that reveal its natural sound, making it audible to all.

A primordial echo, an ancestral pulse, transforming the sculpture into a bridge between the visible and the invisible, the tangible and the intangible.

E nell’atto, ho scolpito l’eterno.”

Era associata all’abilità, non all’ispirazione.
